You can master your money (and have more fun). I’ll show you how!
Less Financial Stress
My name is Tom Wachowski and making money subjects simple fascinates me!
It’s simple really. When you learn certain financial concepts, that even the big-name gurus misunderstand, you’ll enjoy less stress, less worry, and more money. You’ll be free.
And, when you’re free, when you’re in control of your finances, you can focus on what excites you, drives you, and lights you up. From family, friends and relationships to health, hobbies, and dreams…
Standing on a strong financial foundation changes life.
I believe this. I’ve personally experienced it. You can, too.
It’s time to build your financial foundation the right way. I’ll teach you how.

The Back Story, Who is Tom?
In 2003 I was an airline pilot. I wasn’t making great money. So, I decided to start looking for ways to earn money on my days off. This is how I discovered the financial industry. But, let’s back up.
It all began when…
I’m originally from Michigan. But, growing up, my family took many trips to Arizona where my Grandma lived during the winters. When it came time to attend college, I naturally wanted to do so in Arizona. Grandma was there, I knew Arizona, and it was warm in the winter.
So, after high school, I headed west to attend a small aeronautical university in the Northern Arizona mountains called Embry-Riddle. I was fascinated by flight and college was my opportunity to learn everything about aviation. Of course, every few months I’d drive to Southern Arizona to visit Grandma. This is where my curiosity of how money works started. It was 1996.
Generational Lessons on Wealth.
Grandma was a financial expert. During most of my visits, she would bring out her files of stock accounts and financial statements. She would teach me how to save, invest, and get rich. Now, Grandma wasn’t a millionaire. She spent a career in the public school system. But, she enjoyed travel, a home in Michigan, a home in Arizona, and a country club membership (she also taught me to golf). She knew something about money! I listened.
After college, I left Arizona and moved near Washington DC to begin my aviation career. It was now the early 2000′s. I worked in Boston, Cincinnati, Chicago, and I was finally sent back to DC. I was having fun, but I wasn’t making much money. And, at one point, I didn’t even have an official home! I lived out of my suitcase and slept in rented bedrooms, friends homes, a boat (yes… a boat), or in cheap motel rooms.
Sitting Still was Tough.
It was now 2003 and Melissa (my girlfriend then and my wife now) was working on her Masters degree. Although I still wasn’t making much money, my flying career was progressing. Improving seniority afforded me a better schedule with more time off. And, while Melissa was busy finishing her Masters Degree, I was searching for ways to make more money on my days off (so we could move back to Arizona when Melissa finished her Masters).
Melissa’s family owned a meat business. So, one day Melissa and I visited with her uncle Chuck. We wanted to inquire how we could join their meat business to earn some extra money. Chuck oversaw business development and marketing for the meat business part of the day. But, most of his day was spent managing his own financial planning practice he owned and operated since 1986. He quickly showed us why selling life insurance made the most sense of any business venture; it was important, it was affordable for consumers, and people everywhere needed it.
I was instantly intrigued. Where Grandma had taught me about building wealth, Chuck was teaching me about protecting that wealth with life insurance. It made total sense. And, my natural curiosity about personal finance kicked in. Soon, both Melissa and I earned licenses to sell life insurance as independent brokers.
The hardest thing I’ve ever done… ever.
It was now 2004. We had moved to Arizona (where we didn’t know anyone). But, I hit the streets and the phone. I was helping people get the right life insurance at the best price. In 2006 I obtained a securities license and began offering investments, too. I learned business, sales, and marketing the old fashioned way; by just doing it! Some things worked. Many things didn’t. The business wasn’t easy. I would spend my days studying my business, analyzing peoples’ financial needs, and crafting suitable life insurance plans for them. Since most people worked until 5pm, I would spend my nights following up.
This was tough work. Many people would ignore my calls, stand me up on appointments, and sometimes even yell at me on the phone. I can remember driving home after a few stand ups almost in tears. Since we had now moved to Arizona, this venture was no longer about making extra money. Instead the work was about being successful in the business. And my definition of success included delivering policies; helping people get the right life insurance or investments at the best price (hard to do when you’re ignored, stood up, or yelled at). But, that curiosity of personal finance beamed bright. And over time, I began to notice a few things.
Spotting trends and themes leads to new ideas.
First, I discovered that families making $300,000 a year and families making $30,000 a year had the EXACT SAME FINANCIAL CHALLENGES.
Second, I found myself telling the same stories over and over. Since the financial challenges were similar across the wealth spectrum, the necessary lessons for financial peace and security were the same, too.
Third, I was getting really good at making money subjects simple. All of the study, practice, and nights in the trenches were paying off.
Fourth, I was enjoying the business, sales, and marketing experience I was getting as much as actually helping people with their money.
But, I was tiring of the actual work demand. Long hours (on my days off from flying), nights away from home, and legal compliance tasks were wearing on me. It was now 2007. Melissa and I had been married a couple of years and had our first son, Raymond. My airline job was gone (they went out of business) and I was now flying a private jet for a wealthy family. While I was making more money, my schedule was erratic and my obligations were at home with my family… not at other peoples’ homes at night teaching them about money. Yet, my love of personal finance continued growing.
Important lessons for you.
Since I NEVER had to depend on my sales to survive, I was free to do some radical things in the life insurance and investment business. For instance, I was able to research, study, and master my craft. I was able to sell lower-priced products that fit a need, not higher priced products that met a sales goal. And I was able to learn the best ways to make money subjects simple.
And that’s when I noticed a fifth theme in my life insurance and investments work. And this is what’s most important for you;
Most of the people and companies in the financial services industry:
- are sales experts, not personal finance experts
- have sales quotas, which naturally put their sales interests ahead of your best interest
- have industry agendas; they sell proprietary products and services that cost you more and often provide you less than what may be available in the marketplace
- don’t understand the inner workings of their own industry
- overcomplicate money subjects
Insider intelligence fuels the fire.
These realities frustrated me. When I thought of all the people who were being told and sold complete financial junk, I felt a new responsibility for my business.
To take on this new responsibility, I would need to spread my message on a new, larger scale. And, I would need to tap technology to teach more people how to master money, build wealth, and change their lives. And, because I was still flying professionally, I would need a portable solution so I could design, build, and manage the project from anywhere. The “aha” moment had arrived and www.YourMoneyHouse.com was born.
Money Subjects Made Simple
It’s true. You can quickly learn the fundamentals to personal finance. When you do, it’s easy to
- Get Smart
- Get Secure
- Get Ahead
I know this. I’ve experienced it and I’ve helped others reach it. I’ll help you get there as well.
To begin, you’ll need a framework. That framework is “Your Money House.” See, your money is no different than your house. Like the home you live in has a foundation, walls, and a roof… so too does your own personal money house have a foundation, walls, and a roof.
Like your real home, if Your Money House (your personal financial life) is built on a fragile foundation, has poorly constructed walls, and has an inadequate roof… you’ll have a tough time, financially.
Avoid industry agendas.
The good news is building a strong money house is easy. I’ll show you how.
The bad news is that industry agendas are real. They’re often responsible for your financial frustrations. If I can teach you how to avoid them, you’ll have an easier experience mastering your money and building wealth… so you can change lives (and have more fun yourself).
I know. I’ve done it!

What am I Doing Today?
Melissa and I now have two boys, Raymond and Bennett. Melissa stays home to raise the boys. We live down a dirt road, “in the country,” in Arizona. In summer, we love spending time back in Michigan.
As for me, I’m most likely researching, writing, or producing a resource to make money subjects simple. Some days I work from my home office. Some days I work from my favorite coffee shops. And, some days, when I’m flying, I work from a hotel room somewhere in the USA. But no matter my location, I usually can’t wait to sit down (with a cup of coffee) and create content that helps you master money and build wealth… so you can find more freedom (and have more fun)!
Now you know all about me! I’d like to hear about you!
